In under 2’s this month, we have been having lots of fun creating Christmas decorations. This included doing hand and foot print painting, as well as potato printing to make baubles. The children have also had their feet painted to create reindeers and snowmen. We have also had lots of sensory trays out such as fake snow, white gloop and porridge oats. This month, we have also had our Christmas party. Our parents came to play with us for the morning to join in the festive fun. We had a range of fun activities to take part in, including making cotton wool snowmen and creating our own stockings.
What a fun month we have had in toddlers! We had an exciting trip out in the Blackberries bus to the Christmas tree farm to look at the different trees and to choose the Christmas tree for the nursery. We smelt and touched the fir trees and measured ourselves against them. Together we chose a big tree for the nursery and 2 smaller trees to decorate for Santa’s grotto at our party. We were excited to see the trees being delivered to the nursery and the pre-school children kindly decorated the tree for us.
In December we been busy doing all things Christmas! We have turned our role play area into Santa’s workshop where we can design our own toys, make them, wrap them and pack them in Santa’s sack ready to send to all the children on Christmas eve! We have been busy writing letters to Santa, drawing pictures of what we would like for Christmas and posting them in our letter box. We also took a trip down to one of our local care homes to bring some festive cheer to the elderly. The Preschooler’s did a fantastic job singing their Christmas favourites.
We would like to say a big thank-you to all our families who joined us at our Christmas Party. It was great to see everyone having a wonderful time, taking part in all the festive fun! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
