What Is ParentZone?

We are always looking at ways to improve our connections with you our parents and we have listened to your feedback throughout our parent meetings and conversations, we have some very exciting news; Blackberries will be partnering with iConnect, providing our Parent Zone App allowing parents to watch your children flourish while at Blackberries.

When your children are at Blackberries, they spend all day learning, exploring, and experimenting, whether they’re trying new foods or taking wobbly first steps. With the Parent Zone smartphone app, you won’t miss a single moment. Blackberries ParentZone App will be an addition to coincide with your child’s Learning Journey Memories, as here at Blackberries we understand personal creations and Early Years’ keepsakes are invaluable.

Your child’s Key Worker will add Snapshots and Learning Stories to your timeline. These will be linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will be able to see how your child is developing by clicking on the framework gradings where notes will be displayed supporting our Blackberries families to understand how to further support your child at home. At Blackberries, it is important to us to continue to build our wonderful partnership with you our parents with your child’s best interest at heart. We care about how your children develop outside of our nurseries too and within our Parent Zone App, you will be able to add your own observations from home and share those family experiences with us.

Throughout the day, your child’s Key Worker will observe and record your child’s progress in their very own Parent Zone Learning Journal. An update might include pictures or videos of them doing something fun, or notes keeping you up to date on daily activities. Each Learning Journal entry also keeps track of all the basics, from nap times and nappy changes to what your child ate for lunch.

Managing your Personal Data – iConnect and ParentZone are protected by industry-standard HTTPS connections using the same security certificate technology used by internet banking. When data is being transferred to or from ParentZone and iConnect, it is encrypted using TLS Certificates, so your child(s) photos/data are always safe.

What is ParentHub?

ParentZone includes a ParentHub to support you with at home-learning. ParentHub can be accessed via the main menu within the app and includes:

  • Over 15 fun activities and downloadable resources for you to do at home with your children during closures with more being added each week.
  • Extremely useful guidance on foods to aid the growth development of your children from food expert Louise Mercieca.
  • Yummy and easy recipes to incorporate all of the essential vitamins and nutrients into your child’s diet.
  • The most trusted, useful apps and links for you to find even more activities and resources from outside of the ParentZone app.
  • Fun games and videos to help your children to learn relaxing and calming techniques and encourage them to be more kind.
  • BBC Bitesize content on helping children to become independent at home, top tips for toilet training, how to get bedtime routine right and advice for starting Primary School.

Share Observations

The ParentZone app is a two-way platform and allows you to add your own notes and observations from their time outside of the nursery. This will help us to plan their activities in the future.

You won’t miss a single thing when they’re at nursery as every day is recorded in their Journal. You’ll be able to see photos, videos and notes of all the things they’ve been up to during the day.

Accessing ParentZone

You will receive an email to your
registered email address to invite you to access

Please make sure we have an up to date
email address for you. If you haven’t received a
registration email for ParentZone yet, please
contact your nursery manager.

When you get the email:

  • Click on the link to activate your account
  • Input your child’s DOB
  • Create a password
Downloading ParentZone

You are able to download the ParentZone app on any Android or iOS devices. All you need to do is click on the Download button at the top of this page that corresponds with your mobile device. Or you can open up the app store on the device and search for ParentZone.

Once downloaded, open the ParentZone app by finding and clicking on the icon to the left within your installed apps and login with the email address & password combination created when the account was set up.

If you wish to access ParentZone via browser instead, you can do so at:

Access Your Main Menu

You can access your main menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines icon (See below) located in the top left of the app.

Changing Your Password

If you just want to change your password, you can do that from within the ParentZone app. To do this, you need to do the following:

  • Enter your current password
  • Enter a new password
  • Confirm the new password
  • Press Change
Resetting Your Password

If you need to reset your password because you have forgotten your old password, this can be done from the login screen by doing the following:

  • Click the Forgot password? link on the login screen.
  • Enter your account email address and click the Reset Password button. This will send you a password reset email.
  • On the email sent, click Reset your password.
  • When clicked, your browser will open and you will be asked to enter the answer to the secret question or your child’s DOB then enter the new password. The new password must contain at least 8 characters long and include a minimum of 1 number. Confirm the password and click Update password.
  • Go back to the ParentZone app and retry logging in.

If you get locked out of ParentZone, contact us and we can send you a new link.
