Under Twos’s
This month in Under 2’s units, our monthly theme has been sea-life animals following high interest in the small world sea life animals last month. The children have been getting creative and have been taking part in painting activities, sticking activities and other mark-making play to creative sea-horses, jelly fish, fish, star fish and more! We have also been exploring sea-life animals in different materials such as putting them into paint and then printing them onto paper, in blue soapy water play, in blue shaving foam and blue and green cooked spaghetti.
Toddler 2
Toddlers have had a busy month learning about the celebration of Diwali. We have been creating and decorating Diya’s using salt dough and bright coloured paint, glitter and sequins. The toddlers created Rangoli patterns using glitter and gluer and these were displayed on the window so that they sparkled as they light flooded through.
We have been creating lots of Halloween decorations ready for our Halloween stay and play session. The children especially enjoyed playing in the sensory tray exploring the Halloween pasta and using the tongs to transfer the pasta from cups to bowls. Other fun activities have included Frankenstein footprint painting, pumpkin decorating and more!
Preschool
The month the children have been getting into the spooky spirit this week in readiness for Halloween! We have been busy making magic potions in our purple glittery water play, adding ingredients such as witches fingers, eye-balls, squidgy water beads, spiders and more! We have also been having great fun with our fine-motor skill spider’s web, where we have been using tweezers to capture the spiders
We have also been looking at the theme of autumn, and the changes in our environment that the season brings. One of our favourite activities has been our conker rolling painting activity where we used a variety of Autumnal colours to create some beautiful pieces are artwork.
