Under Two’s
This month in under 2’s, we have been learning all about Farm Animals. The children have been exploring farm animals in a variety of ways such as in paint, in gloop, in cereals and in shaving foam. They have been experimenting with mark making by making footprint trails with by printing the small world animal’s feet on paper. We have also enjoyed reading our core story which is “Noisy Farm” and listening to the different sounds farm animals. We also joined in with World Book Day where we came into nursery dressed up as our favourite book characters, we shared our favourite stories we our friends. The children loved taking part in British Science Week also, and the little scientists took part in many fun filled experiments!
Toddler Two
This month the toddlers have been busy learning about Spring and growing plants, which has coincided with British Science week and Healthy Eating Week. We have been busy planting rhubarb and flowers outside and we have grown cress inside too. The Toddlers have had fun exploring how the seeds feel and what they look and smell like. We have watched with anticipation as the cress as grown this week and have chopped it up to make some delicious egg and cress sandwiches.
The Toddlers have enjoyed playing in our brand new Flower Shop role play area, where we have been wrapping the flowers in cellophane, tying them with pretty ribbons and giving them to our friends.
Preschool
This month in the Preschool we have taken part in many fun-filled events! We celebrated World Book Day, where we came into nursery dressed as our favourite Book Characters and shared our favourite stories with our friends. We also had a fantastic Mother’s Day Stay and Play session where we were joined by our Mummies and Grandma’s who took part in some beauty therapy and got creative in our flower painting session. The children also really enjoyed Healthy Eating Week, and particularly enjoyed our perspective drawing session where the children chose from a range of fruit and vegetable to explore, and have a go at drawing!
