Under Two’s

This month, we have been focusing on our monthly theme which has been colours. The children have enjoyed exploring multi-coloured sensory trays which have contained, water, shaving foam, spaghetti, rice, oats, water beads and pasta. The children have also created rainbow pictures, as well as experimenting with mixing colours whilst painting. We also had a go at using different items to make marks with, such as utensils and blocks.

Toddler

This month the Big Toddlers have been very busy enjoying many outdoor activities in the garden. They have enjoyed taking risks using the balance beam to walk along and to jump off of the end onto the mats. The toddlers have also been busy taking part in water play to cool off and have enjoyed washing the cars and the bikes in a mini car wash that they had created. We have also been experimenting with mark-making on different textures, and we had a go at using crayons to mark make on the tree’s.

Preschool

This month Preschool have been learning all about People Who Help Us, and based on a recent visit from a Police Officer, the children took park in a recent investigation to solve a mystery. Someone had been into the Nursery, and made lots of mess! The children then searched the Nursery for clues, taking pictures as evidence, and finally discovered that it was Goldilocks! The mystery was solved, well done little officers!

People who help us

This month the Preschool children have been learning all about People Who Help Us. In line with this theme, we have had some special visits from people in our community to tell us all about their jobs. PC Elvidge came along and told us about his job as a Police Officer, and brought along some of his uniform and equipment to share with the children. The children had lots of questions and really enjoyed trying on and having a go with some of the items. We also had a visit from Mrs. Collis, our local post lady. She talked to the children about the processes within the post service, and shared insights about her role. She shared her special key to the post boxes with the children, and we all had a go at writing and posting our own letters too.
