Throughout December, our children have been participating in lots of Festive activities.

Their Core stories for this month have been That’s not my snowman by Fiona Watt for the Under Two’s and The night before Christmas by Clement C Moore for the Over Two’ The children have been captivated by the magic of Christmas at story time.

Some of our Over Two’s children took a trip to Golding’s Feeds & Nursery Ltd, to see all of the Christmas trees and choose a special one for the nursery.

The Children had the opportunity to go and decorate our tree, as part of the Christmas Tree Festival at St Augustine’s Church. We decided on the theme of Forest School, to showcase what the children had been doing in their Forest School sessions, using dried oranges, feathers, pine cones and gingerbread decorations.

The children enjoyed their Christmas Dinner of Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, with Father Christmas and they celebrated by pulling Christmas Crackers and wearing their party hats.

Our Over Two’s had been learning Christmas songs, for the sing-a-long at Lyncroft Care Home, the children enjoyed the trip, they sang beautifully to the residents and gave a gift of mince pies, they had made during their Cookery Club session and they had made some Christmas artwork to share.

We had lots of families attend our Christmas Stay and Play session, with lots of fun filled festive activities to get involved with and there was even a special visit from Father Christmas.
