Under Two’s
During the month of August, we have been exploring the theme of Transport. During our creative play we have been making our own buses and we also made a roadway by rolling tyres into paint. The toddlers have also been to the park where they had lots of fun on the play equipment and were looking for types of transport on the journey there. The children have been developing their speech using simple sounds with play in this theme, such as “beep-beep” or “brumm”, as well as identifying new types of vehicles, such as tractors.
Big Toddler’s
This month our theme has been holidays and transport, we have been looking at all the different places we have been and how we got there. The children brought in pictures from holidays and summer trips, which we have shared at circle time and displayed on our Summer Display. The children have enjoyed taking the theme into their creative play, using cars to paint with. The children have also been learning all about traffic signs, and have been using our traffic lights to stop and go on our bikes and scooters.
Preschool
This month in preschool we have been enjoying our topic of the Sea! We have explored sea-life, and have enjoyed sensory and water trays, where we have talked about the different creatures and their features. The children have enjoyed incorporating the summer weather into their creative play by using frozen paint with lolly sticks to create some beautiful artwork. We also made our own ice cream and served this in our role play ice cream van.
Preschool Leavers Party
This month we said goodbye to some of our Preschool children who are leaving to go to Primary School. We all enjoyed our Princess and Pirate themed Leavers-Party, where we had an array of fun activities, including hook the duck, walk the plank, a treasure hunt, face painting and disco-party fun! Thank you to everyone who came along. We will miss you all, and wish you the best of luck!
