Under 2’s

This month the children in our under 2’s units have enjoyed exploring a variety of messy play. Our favourite song during circle time at the moment is “5 Little Ducks” which we turned into a messy play tray using rubber ducks, blue shaving foam and grass material. The children loved exploring the play tray, whilst we sang along to the song and acted out the story within it.

Outside, the children have took part in some giant painting activities, where we joined lots of pieces of paper to create one large canvas. We used a range of colours and resources to fill our paper with beautiful bright colours. We also added some textures to our masterpiece by adding sand and other resources from around the garden.

Toddlers

This month in the toddler room, the children have enjoyed exploring our variety of outdoor areas. We have also enjoyed exploring a range of messy play, where we have investigated the many different textures, colours and scents.

The children have worked together to create a “Walking through the Jungle” play tray, where we looked through the book and found items that were similar around the garden, and added our small world jungle animals. We had great fun as we sang along to our favourite rhymes within the story book, acting out the many different animal movements and imitating their sounds.

Preschool

This month in pre-school we took part in outdoor classroom day, where the children enjoyed spending the whole day outside exploring out many outdoor environments. The children gathered in our quiet zone where we read our core story this month “Lulu loves Nursery”, which has supported the children who have recently joined us or transitioned through from the younger units.

In our construction area, we created a giant outdoor car track, where the children all worked together to line up the blocks and roll the cars along our track. We also enjoyed getting messy outside, making a variety of surfaces outside, including the concrete pathways. The best part was washing it all off after we finished.
