During the month of June, we said goodbye to our butterflies, the children watched the process of metamorphosis and then released them into the garden.
We have had our special Father’s Day play and stay this month, we invited the father’s in to take part in a variety of activities and join in with their child’s play.
We have also continued with our planting this month and we have planted “Purple carrots” we will be looking after the carrots and watching them grow. If we are successful, we will then get the chance to try our home grown carrots!
You can share our Core Story “The very hungry caterpillar” through our books for bedtime scheme or you can access some of our activities through our “Have a go at home” scheme, encouraging the positive partnership in learning between nursery and home. Have a look in our have a go at home trays also for work to promote parents as partners. To support growing and gardening we will also be reading “Oliver’s Vegetables”
“exploring the environment first hand will help the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills further”
