Under 2’s
This month the children in the Under Two’s units have enjoyed exploring the garden areas, with a particular interest in outdoor mark-making using water and chalk to make marks. We had our Father’s Day Stay and Play day where our Dads, Grandads and Uncles joined us for a fun filled session. The children have also enjoyed exploring a variety of different sensory trays, and have showed an interest in mixing different resources such as shaving foam and pasta.
Big toddlers
The Big Toddlers really enjoyed their monthly trip to visit the residents of the Tudors Care Home. The children decorated dream catchers with different memorable objects with the help of the residents. Outdoors we have been developing our balance and coordination through a variety of obstacle courses, designed with the support of the children. This has included a balance beam, mini-hurdles and stepping stones.
Pre-school
Pre-school this month have been taking part in the 30 Days of Wild Challenge, where each day we have taken part in a new wild challenge. We have been exploring the outside world and environment, and activities have included exploring the grass between our toes, making a daisy chain and having a go at meditating in nature. The children have enjoyed exploring nature in all forms, and one of our most recent favourite activity was caring for caterpillars as they transformed into butterflies. The process of metamorphosis was amazing to watch first hand. We have also enjoyed our Father’s Day Stay and Play session which was a great success thanks to all the Dads, Grandads and Uncles who came along.
