Mixing, stirring and pouring were all part of the children’s play in our mud kitchen. Mud Play is important for children to develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills, increase awareness of their senses, particularly touch, improve hand/ eye coordination and develop their social and emotional skills, including taking turns and leading/following directions. Did you know that   all those physical skills help the development of muscle and movement to help children with mark making, drawing and early writing skills.

We will be extending the children’s interest in Mud play by participating in the Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddle walk 13- 19th May.– (wellington boots at the ready)

The children will also enjoy listening to our core story ‘The biggest muddy puddle in the World’

Why not join in at home? Copies of our core story are available in our lending library.
