Baby Unit:

This month our babies have showed a particular interest in a variety of sensory play. One of our favourite activities have been making different types of play-dough, adding different scents and colours! We have loved exploring the different textures and experimenting with by using different tools to make marks. We have enjoyed exploring Arctic-themed sensory trays as part of our nursery topics, which have included shaving foam and arctic animals.

Little Toddlers:

This month we have been celebrating many different events, and the children particularly enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year! The children had great fun having a go at Chinese Dragon Dancing, where we dressed up in a giant dragon outfit! We have also enjoyed exploring our sensory areas, and we have been experimenting with out sensory light ball, taking turns to control the remote.

Big Toddlers

This month the Big Toddlers have been celebrating many different events. The children took part a variety of fun activities for Chinese New Year, and particularly enjoyed having a go in Dragon dancing, as well as getting creative making lanterns and symmetrical dragon paintings. The children have been also celebrating Valentines Day, and preparing for Mothering Sunday making many special gifts for loved ones. The Big Toddlers have also enjoyed a woodwork session this month, having a go at using real-life tools such as nails and hammers.

Pre-school

We have had a busy month celebrating different cultures and festivals this month. The children celebrated “Shrove Tuesday” and we made our own pancakes and then even had a turn at flipping them. We all had a taste and loved them! We have also been celebrating Chinese New Year and invited our parents in for a play and stay session to take part in Chinese New Year activities which was a great success. The children have showed great interest in learning all about the festival and the differences in the Chinese culture.
