Peterborough Nursery May 2019

by Jun 3, 2019News, Peterborough Latest News0 comments

During the month of May we have had some special visitors arrive; the children have been looking after their own caterpillars. We have been watching them grow and develop into cocoons. The nursery has been reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle to further develop their understanding of the process of metamorphosis

We have also taken part in outdoor classroom day and took our planned activities outside for the day. The children practised their throwing and catching skills and created various crafts in the garden. Along with lots of water play to cool down in the hot weather!

You can share our Core Story “The very hungry caterpillar” through our books for bedtime scheme or you can access some of our activities through our “Have a go at home” scheme, encouraging the positive partnership in learning between nursery and home. Have a look in our have a go at home trays also for work to promote parents as partners.

“knowledge and understanding of the world – helps to support the children to have a keen eye for wildlife and develop their natural curiosity”
