Under Two’s
The children have been enjoying the beautiful weather and we have been spending lots of time exploring the nature garden. The children have been practicing their gross motor skills, climbing up the large climbing frame, also running around confidently. The children have also taken part in Little Chefs Cooking Club, where we made our own jam tarts, rolling out the pastry and then scooping the jam in. They tasted delicious!
Big Toddlers
This month in Big Toddlers we have been investigating nature within our environment, and learning all about how to care for living things in our outdoor areas. The children have enjoyed watering the many plants and flowers, and searching for mini-beasts too! We even had a go at making our very own bird feeders to place in our outdoor spaces. We have all watched in fascination as our gardens have come to life with many different types of birds visiting to enjoy the tastey creations. We have also joined All4Sports sessions, and had great fun practicing balance and coordination to develop our physical skills.
Preschool
The children have had a very exciting visit from the McCain’s Potato Factory. We had a fun outdoor session where we learnt all about the different types of potatoes and the process they go through before the reach our shops. The children then had a go at planting their own potatoes. We started by separating the soil, digging a small hole and then placing the potato into the hole. Finally, we finished off by giving them a good drink of water. We will be watching their progress over the coming weeks and then harvesting later in the year.
Royal Wedding
At Blackberries we all had a fantastic day celebrating the Royal Wedding. We celebrate this very special day by holding a Prince and Princess day. The children participated it a variety of Royal themed activities and had a street style lunch party and the younger children had a fun picnic party. A fun day was enjoyed by all!
