Babies

We have loved exploring the pumpkins! Getting messy and moving our hands around the tray. We especially liked picking out the seeds between our fingers and thumb. We have also been exploring our new sensory baskets, banging the brushes on the floor and listening to the sound. Also, exploring the texture by brushing our hands over the top and putting it into our mouths!

Little Toddlers

We have been making the most of the Autumn period by getting very messy and exploring lots of new textures. We made some cinnamon rice to explore, we loved picking up handfuls and smelling the rice but we had to remember that we couldn’t eat it!

We have explored the autumn sensory tray, moving the various objects around the tray which included pinecones, leaves and conkers.

We have loved explored our pumpkins, first the outside running our hands over to explore the texture then getting messy pulling all the insides out!

Over Two’s

This month we were very excited to be able to take the children to the Pumpkin Farm to pick out their own pumpkins for the room. Children from Preschool and Big Toddlers could take part and enjoy this fun activity picking out a little pumpkin of their very own to take home.

Back at the nursery, we have been very busy cutting and carving the pumpkins which are now displayed at the front of the nursery for everybody to see. We have also enjoyed getting very messy creating lots of decorations for our upcoming Halloween party, creating handprint bats and footprint ghosts.
