Under Two’s

This month in the Under Two’s units, our topic has been Zoo Animals. We have been looking at and reading the story “Dear Zoo”, taking it in turns to lift the flaps and turn the pages. We have enjoyed exploring story themed sensory boxes filled with different materials and resources such as cereal shredded paper, rice and sawdust. We have enjoyed trying to find the hidden zoo animals in the box’s too, making different animal noises.

Big Toddlers

In the Big Toddlers room we have been learning all about the Season of Spring, and the children have enjoyed getting creative as we have made a variety of Spring themed artwork, where the children have chosen their resources from a range of utensils and colours. The sponges were a favourite choice and the children were able to name the different shapes they had such as butterflies, bunnies, and birds! Another creative activity we enjoyed was decorating Easter Eggs with carrots by printing with paint, this fun activity supported our counting as we matched the number of prints to the number underneath the egg. We also recently visited our local pet shop, where saw, and even pet, some of the animals, the Rabbits were our favourite!

Preschool

During the month of March we have taken part in celebrating British Science week. Our little Scientists have been investigating in the many different experiments. Some of our favourite activities included the water bag experiment, where we pierced the bag with pencils, but were amazed to find the water did not leak out! We also really enjoyed making slime which was great fun to manipulate, as well as putting mints in the fizzy drinks, where we found the mints and drink reacted and began to fizz! We had great fun!
